Samoa Arise.. Samoa e tula'i mai --[A piece I wrote last year for the Beloved Samoa website]

SAMOA ARISE… SAMOA ARISE …. A call to our people! To our beloved Samoa! Stand strong! Stand firm! Fight Samoa Fight like the warriors of faith that God created us to be!!  Although weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning time. This tragic and catastrophic disaster has affected our island and claimed many lives and wounded the spirit of our people.It has rocked our island nation and shaken the very core of who we are. We have seen the damage, the detriment, and the destruction. We have seen the eyes that convey emptiness and sorrow. Many asking is there hope for tomorrow ? Lives lost, homes in ruin, and all that is left for some is debris and remnants of what once was and now no longer is! Despair and devastation, heart ache and pain. The smell of death … The sound of mourning…. Doom and gloom... And yet from the depths of our soul we hear the call and the cry...SAMOA E TULA’I MAI…  SAMOA E TULA’I MAI….

We are a people of purpose, we are a people of a rich and beautiful heritage! More than our homes, more than our island, we posses a phenomenal strength and vibrant spirit to endure even the toughest of times! Our faith is our fight,empowered by the love that God embedded on the inside of us! We are a people that have triumphed through trials and we shall do so again! Samoa God will never leave you nor forsake you! We are alive because of His grace and it is his peace that passes all understanding that will enable us to overcome! Do not lose hope! We are OVER COMERS! We are Champions! We are a resilient people! We are warriors! We are fighters! We are Victorious ! We are children of the most High God! We are Samoa and we will survive ! We will laugh again and smile once more. We will never forget what has happened  for it will always serve as a reminder to make the most of everyday and everyone. Tomorrow is not promised, but eternity is. Where we spend eternity is contingent on the choices we make today! SAMOA GOD IS CALLING US TO TAKE OUR PLACE IN HIM. We draw our strength from HIM alone! WARRIORS OF FAITH TAKE YOUR PLACE! WARRIORS ASSUME YOUR POSITION!Hear the heart cry and the battle call  SAMOA ARISE! SAMOA ARISE! SAMOA E TULA’I MAI! SAMOA E TULA’I MAI!
